Starbucks cares for the environment: a bold take on reusable cups!

At Starbucks, coffee and the community come first. That’s why The Starbucks Coffee Company is especially proud of its Reusable Coffee Grounds Cup, designed to reduce waste, reuse what matters, and reshape your daily rituals.

“For us, sustainability is more than a goal. It’s a responsibility,” says Leah McCrae, Managing Director, Rand Capital Coffee, Licensee Starbucks SA. And it’s one Starbucks takes very seriously, having committed to slashing waste by 50% by 2030.

The journey kicked off with the Circular cup in 2020, by upcycling single-use cups and recycled plastics and turning them into durable, everyday reusables.

Circular Cups were just the beginning. In 2023, the next evolution arrived: The Reusable Coffee Ground Cup. Made from 70% recycled plastic and 20% used Starbucks coffee grounds. Yesterday’s coffee grounds, reborn as today’s cup. A smarter, more sustainable step that turns everyday into better choices for the planet.

Every cup has a story, and this one is about more than coffee. The Reusable Coffee Grounds Cup transforms yesterday’s grounds into today’s ritual, proving that small choices can fuel a bigger change. The next time you order your favourite drink, choose the cup that carries your coffee and the planet forward.
